London Vocal Project

The London Vocal Project is one of the UK's leading contemporary vocal ensembles, specialising in jazz and groove music. Led by jazz composer and educator Pete Churchill, LVP is a vibrant community of performers.

In 2012, we recorded our first album, Mirrors, with legendary composer and trumpet player Kenny Wheeler, featuring his long-time collaborator Norma Winstone.

It features Kenny's settings of poetry by Stevie Smith, WB Yeats and Lewis Carroll, in a suite which began conception in the early 1990s.

It also features Nikki Iles (piano), Steve Watts (bass), James Maddren (drums) and Mark Lockheart (sax).

It was released on Edition Records in 2013, and launched at King's Place, London.

‘An album project which has 11 tracks of sheer beauty and perfection’. JAZZTIMES

‘Undoubtedly a highlight in the lengthy careers of Winstone and Wheeler, those stalwarts of the European jazz scene’. BLUES AND RELATED STUFF
